SATS Term Time Table
The Seminary’s academic year runs from 1 February to 31 January. The year is divided into four, three-month terms:
|
Term 1 1 Feb - 30 Apr |
Term 2 1 May - 30 Jul |
Term 3 1 Aug - 30 Oct |
Term 4 1 Nov - 30 Jan |
|
Subject Activation Date*: ±1 December |
Subject Activation Date*: ±1 March |
Subject Activation Date*: ±1 June |
Subject Activation Date*: ±1 September |
* Subject Activation Dates: The subjects are available on MySats approximately two months prior to the start date of the Terms. Students can therefore start with the subjects two months in advance, which gives them more time to finish the assignments.
All the undergraduate courses, with the exception of the BTh Thesis and the courses in the Certificate in Christian Counselling, are offered in one or more of the three-month blocks. The courses for which many students enrol are offered twice each year. For example, THE1121 Christian Foundations is offered in Term 1, and again in Term 3. Courses with lesser numbers are offered only once in an academic year.
Whereas all the other undergraduate courses are 12 credits, the BTh Thesis and the courses in the Certificate in Christian Counselling (CCC) are larger than 12 credits. The BTh Thesis is worth 36 credits; you will be allowed to start it any time, and will have one year to finish it. The CCC courses range from 15 to 22 credits. All the Certificate in Christian Counselling courses are Year Modules.
See the articles under the "Courses" Menu Item - you will find the subjects and courses in each qualification ordered by the terms in which they are offered. You should select at least one course from each timeslot—that is, one each from 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the academic year. Although you are only required to complete two courses each year, to finish your qualification in reasonable time you need to average four subjects each year.
